Interview with iBoot Creator PJ Guerrieri
Today we bring you quite a treat, our partner and iBoot creator PJ Guerrieri! iBoot, for those of you who have not seen it on our site yet, is an ingenious tool PJ built to bring boot camp style workouts to you, anytime, anyplace. Well let’s get started so you can here from the man himself!
Jason – Hey there PJ! Thanks so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to chat with us!
PJ - Hey yea, its my pleasure, thanks for having me.
Jason – We’ve been looking forward to this so we could really put a nice launch on the release of iBoot with eFitness for Life. I know we’re excited. I believe the eFitness for Life clients will get a big boost from these personal boot camps. And, just so you know, I loved it when I tried it for the first time just a couple of weeks ago. Got a really, really good workout and played the video right from iTunes, since I don’t have my iPhone!
PJ - Glad you liked it. I focused on basic movements to simplify the exercises while also keeping it challenging with continuous moving to condition one’s body and mind.
Jason – Now let’s get done to business. Before we get into the details of the iBoot program, tell us a little bit about your background, how you got into fitness and what motivated you do become a fitness professional and now, creator?
PJ - I’ve been active playing sports since age 6 and played competitively until I was 23. Throughout the course of time I realized how important having a fit, conditioned body and mind was to be successful on game day. Like life, its all about practice and preparation to give yourself the best chance to succeed at whatever you’re trying to do.
Jason – Pretty cool! Now, iBoot! How did this come to be and what was your goal behind creating it?
PJ – I created iBoot as a solution to issues clients were having. Whether they were traveling a lot, couldn’t afford a trainer, or simply didn’t know what they didn’t know, iBoot eliminates all excuses so people can live a fit lifestyle. You can purchase the workouts only or the complete program that comes with the workouts and a 28 day step-by-step guide.
Jason – Now, I know there are readers who are going to have the same question I did when we first met, “How does it work?” Can you give a little insight?
PJ – Yea it’s really simple. Imagine doing a training session with a personal trainer by your side. He/she explains the move to you and you do it. If you don’t understand the move your trainer will demonstrate how to do it. With iBoot it’s very similar. Instead of having a trainer standing next to you, he’s in your earphones giving u the instruction of the exercise. If you need a demonstration, look on your iPod, or whatever device you’re using. Then the trainer will instruct you all the way through each exercise. For a treat there’s great music to fuel you forward. It really is simple and unlike fitness dvds, it’s not designed to do it while watching the screen.
Jason - Wow! That’s great! So you can actually do a boot camp class ANY place, anytime! Knowing how difficult it is to juggle everyday life, having a boot camp at your fingertips is awesome. But, let’s say I’ve never done a boot camp class ever …can I, can anyone, with any current level of fitness do an iBoot boot camp workout?
PJ – Yea you can do it anywhere and anytime. It’s challenging and will kick your butt, that’s why it gets results. If you’re a beginner, do the best you can do through each workout day. Since the exercises are all basic, anyone can do this program. The program is all there for you right on your device. It empowers you to do the workouts and follow the program and you will be better conditioned and more fit. Anyone can do this who is not dealing with any injuries or ailments. I always recommend people consult with their physician before beginning an exercise program.
Jason - What kind of results are users getting from doing iBoot workouts?
PJ – Over a 90 day period I’ve seen a woman go from a size 12 to a size 6. She basically lost half her body size. Also, for the 28 day program I’ve had people lose as much as 15 pounds. Even if weight was not lost, people began the body transformation process by staying committed to exercise and conscious eating. My philosophy is to keep it very simple and basic and that’s just what we do.
Jason - Do users need any other type of equipment to be able to do the iBoot workouts?
PJ – Mostly the workouts are all body weight based. We do have a few exercises that require thera-band tubing or dumbbells.
Jason - What if I already exercising routinely, can I still benefit from iBoot?
PJ - Yea you can. It is simply another workout program for you to get results from. It’s always good to expand your knowledge of exercise programs.
Jason - How about for eFitness for Life clients? Can they make iBoot a part of their programs? Can it be added to their routines by their coaches?
PJ – Yea for sure. It can be used as a complete program or as a compliment for existing programs. All the current workouts are full body so they can be incorporated into most programs. Keep in mind that iBoot was created for those who want to lose weight, shape and tone, and increase their overall health and conditioning.
Jason – PJ, I gotta tell you, this is a really cool creation! You have given people everywhere, yet another avenue to increase their health and wellness and, taken away so many of the things that keep people from regular exercise, like time, location, schedules, etc. You’ve built an amazing tool and I can proudly say, we are happy to be working with you.
