The Internet and Your True Productivity
Daniel Scocco, author of Daily Blog Tips, writes “I don’t know about you, but every time my access to the Internet is limited, I become more productive. For example, currently I need to write 50 pages of content for a small project, and I had been procrastinating on it for over a week. Then yesterday my Internet connection died virtually the whole day, and as a consequence I managed to write around 10 pages. How come? There was nothing else to do!”
Is this you? The more I thought about Daniel’s recent post, A Productivity Experiment: Limiting My Online Hours, the more I realized we may truly have a skewed vision of our own personal productivity and how this whole Internet thing affects us and our ability to reach our goals. Daniel is 100% correct and I find myself often falling into the same trap. I have dozens or writing assignments to complete and get caught up responding to email, working on the blogs, browsing the web, etc. instead of writing. Heck, my Internet time is directly affecting you, our readers, as it limits my ability to get you more and more useful content related to your health and wealth or your ability to create them.
This has to change. Starting today! More off-web time for me! I will literally be turning my PC off for a couple hours each day while in the office so I can finally “force” myself to get to the non-Internet related activities that have been piling up. Join me! Give it a try. Take 30 minutes out somewhere in your day, where you would normally be on the Web or in front of your PC and use that time to get some much needed exercise or reading. Use this time to battle your common daily stresses…. and yes, a good fitness training plan does battle the effects of stress!
Since every morning for me starts off with my exercise, I will be using my time away from the World Wide Web to build your personal health and wealth, which is why I do what I do anyway! Heck, if you can set aside another 30-60 minutes a day, away from your PC, you can even join our team and begin to build you own, Plan B or retirement nest egg! That’s exactly how we got started with our AdvoCare business… and it works! We have so many on our team now and we all love working together to build our futures through helping others.
Folks, technology is a wonderful thing, but let’s not lose sight of the bigger picture in our plan because we’re reading the gossip columns plastered all over the Web. To your health and wealth, start today!
